Terms of Service
Last updated: July 2026
NE1 Electrical Ltd (company number 12082633), 20 Hartside, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE15 8BY
These Terms of Service govern your use of iZapp.app, operated by NE1 Electrical Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.
1. Who can use iZapp
The Service is intended for electrical apprentices, electricians, lecturers, and education providers in the United Kingdom.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By creating an account, you confirm you meet this age requirement.
If you are aged 16 or 17, you confirm that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Service.
The Service is not directed at, and must not be used by, anyone under 16.
2. Account registration
You must provide accurate information when creating your account. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us at info@ne1electrical.co.uk if you suspect unauthorised access.
3. Free and paid accounts
Apprentice accounts are free. Lecturer and education provider accounts may require a paid subscription. All prices are in GBP and inclusive of VAT where applicable.
Subscriptions are billed in advance. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period with no refund for the remaining period unless required by law. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice.
3A. Token / credit purchases
In addition to subscriptions, we sell one-off packs of AI credits ("Tokens") for use with Token-gated features, including the Team Overview dashboard, AI-assisted tools, and certificate credits beyond your free monthly allowance.
Tokens are digital content supplied to your account immediately on payment. Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you would ordinarily have a 14-day right to cancel a digital content purchase. By completing a Token purchase, you expressly request immediate delivery and acknowledge that you lose your right to cancel once the Tokens are credited to your account.
Tokens already spent are non-refundable. Unused Tokens may be refunded within 14 days of purchase at our discretion, less any Tokens already used.
Tokens have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred between accounts, or redeemed for anything outside the Service.
Token prices and the cost of each Token-gated feature are shown in the Service before purchase and may change at any time; changes do not affect Tokens already purchased.
3B. Ending your account
You may close your account at any time by contacting info@ne1electrical.co.uk. We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these Terms, non-payment, or where required by law.
On closure, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are entitled or required to retain it for longer — for example, certificate and test records may be retained for 6 years in line with industry record-keeping guidance, and financial records for up to 7 years to meet HMRC requirements.
Closing your account does not entitle you to a refund of any unused subscription period or Tokens, except as set out in section 3, 3A, or as required by law.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service for unlawful purposes, upload infringing content, attempt unauthorised access to other accounts, scrape or reverse-engineer the Service, upload malicious code, or impersonate others. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules.
4A. AI-assisted features
Certain features (including the Regulations Assistant, consumer unit label scanning, test instrument scanning, and any content-generation tools) use artificial intelligence to produce suggestions, summaries, or draft content ("AI Output").
AI Output is guidance only. It may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect, and does not constitute electrical, legal, or professional advice. It is not a substitute for your own professional judgement and must always be verified against BS 7671 and manufacturer instructions before use.
You are solely responsible for checking and verifying any AI Output you rely on, including in any certificate, report, or document you issue to a third party. We accept no liability for loss arising from reliance on AI Output that was not independently verified.
5. Content you upload
You retain ownership of content you upload. By uploading you grant us a limited licence to store and deliver it for the purposes of running the Service. We will not use your content for any other purpose.
5A. Certificates and safety-critical documents
The Service lets you generate electrical certificates (including EICR, EIC, and Minor Works certificates) and related documents. The Service is a document-generation and record-keeping tool only.
As the signing engineer or responsible person, you are solely responsible for the accuracy of any inspection, test, or certificate you produce, for exercising reasonable skill and care in accordance with BS 7671 and any applicable standard, and for compliance with any competent person scheme you belong to (e.g. NICEIC, NAPIT).
We are not a party to, and accept no liability arising from, the content of any certificate or document you generate, issue, or rely on.
6. Our content
All course material, quizzes, flashcards, and tools remain the intellectual property of NE1 Electrical Ltd. You may use them for your own learning but may not copy, distribute, or resell them without written permission.
6A. Data you process about your own customers
If you use the Service to store or process personal data about your own customers or clients (for example, in quotes, invoices, or certificates), you are the data controller of that data, and we act as a data processor on your behalf under UK GDPR.
We will only process that data on your instructions (as given through your use of the Service), to provide the Service, and as required by law, and will apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it.
Business or education-provider customers may request a Data Processing Agreement by contacting info@ne1electrical.co.uk.
7. Availability
We aim to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We are not liable for loss caused by unavailability.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the preceding 12 months, or £100, whichever is greater. Nothing limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
10. Third-party services
The Service uses third-party providers to operate, including Stripe (payment processing) and the WhatsApp Business Platform (optional booking/reminder messages). Use of features involving these providers is also subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of these third parties.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by an in-Service notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms. If you don't agree, you must stop using the Service and may close your account.
